About The Position

Responsibilities Bills professional and hospital claims to appropriate insurance companies Answers any questions a patient or their representative may have concerning their bill Reviews accounts to be placed with a collection agency or to be resubmitted to an insurance company Prepares financial contracts for payment arrangements Posts payments and contractual allowances and all information contained on a payment EOB and all information contained on a non-payment EOB

Requirements

  • Mathematical skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages
  • Bookkeeping skills of reconciling and debit/credit functions are necessary
  • Requires negotiating and communication skills along with the use of good judgement
  • Minimum of one month on the job training prior to assuming responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in insurance billing
  • Handling money and one year office setting experience preffered
