AWG Center Store Sales Manager Location: Hernando/Mid-South Department: Center Store Sales Make us your BEST Choice! Travel: 25-40%, some overnight This role will be responsible for the execution and selling of AWG Center Store strategic initiatives to increase sales and market share of AWG Members. This role will be responsible for attaining AWG Center Store sales metrics and goals within the assigned AWG Territory and engage with the Division and assign Equity Groups throughout the Territory to drive AWG Center Store sales to include Grocery, Health, Beauty, Wellness, General Merchandise, Specialty Food (HGS) and AWG Brands. This will cover the Gulf Coast division. Essential Functions: Responsible for developing and growing AWG Center Store portfolio in assigned territories emphasizing AWG Brands and HGS items. Execute AWG Center Store initiatives with assigned Equity Groups. Develop and execute strategies to achieve AWG Center Store sales budget and plans for assigned Equity Groups. Responsible for Headquarter calls with assigned Equity Groups on a regular cadence. Responsible for achieving Center store, AWG Brands, HGS Sales and penetration goals within assigned territories, including distribution drives and closing voids. Demonstrate total understanding of all vendor programs and funding available for retail customers: allowances, performance funds, incentive funds, shopper and marketing funds, direct plant ship options, forward buys, digital promotions, etc. Analyze category performance, competitive and consumer trends and identify category development opportunities at key customers communicating to Regional Sales manager for support on a period basis. Responsible for Developing Marketing Programs with Equity Groups: Supplemental Ads, Digital Coupons, Selling Shows, etc. in cooperation with Divisional Counterparts and AWG Support Center. Responsible for working with Category Managers, AWG Brands team, Procurement, Vendor and Broker partners to manage category performance, competitive and consumer trends and identify category development opportunities to drive sales within our key customers. Responsible for working with all self-negotiating Ad Groups within assigned territory. Responsible for conducting annual JBP and Quarterly reviews with AWG Division Leadership and AWG Support Center as needed with assigned Equity groups. Responsible for providing progress reports on a period basis for performance and progress by category and by key equity within assigned territory to AWG Center Store Regional Sales Manager. Responsible for cascading AWG Center Store initiatives and sales objectives to the Center Store Sales Execution reps. Responsible for supervision and scheduling of Center Store Sales Execution reps within assigned territory. Leadership of special projects for the mutual benefit of the entire AWG Center Store sales team across all regions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred or comparable work experience required, minimum 5 years in the Grocery Industry Marketing/Sales Background
  • Strong Business Knowledge
  • Knowledge: Exceptional understanding of the retail grocery industry
  • Sales experience calling on Key Accounts
  • Abilities: Exceptional communication skills-communicate with all levels of retail management
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with comfort in software navigation.
  • Effective relationship building skills to create and grow professional relationships with AWG Divisional Leadership and Key Equity Groups.
  • Highly adaptable and able to manage various tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to develop budget and sales plan
  • Proficient with Power Point, Excel and Word
