Cemetery Operations Groundsperson - Burial
About The Position
This is an excellent opportunity to join our operations team based at Fawkner and play an integral part in supporting families and stakeholders through the delivery of a range of services. This role is the entry level for the Cemetery Operations Officer – Burial role. New staff will complete a training needs analysis upon commencement and undertake training within their first 12 months of employment to progress to a Level 3 which includes duties such as excavation, elevated work platform operation and shoring. With excellent training and a wonderful working culture, you will be a can-do, positive and service oriented team player. Our people go the extra mile because they choose to.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a similar or comparable role
- Current Victorian driver’s licence (mandatory)
- People-focused communication and interpersonal skills
- Someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Machinery tickets such as excavator licence
- First Aid Certificate
Responsibilities
- Assist the team with day-to-day operations such as grave set up & presentation
- Identifying and checking accurately, the location of a grave site
- Tractor trailer operation
- Assist families and stakeholders with on-ground queries
- Ensure that all burials & cremations occur as per The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust policy
