About The Position

Provo City is seeking a full-time Parks Projects Grounds Technician to perform work at Provo City Cemetery. This position involves maintaining grounds and landscapes. Job Details What is the compensation? Requirements

  • Provo City will honor equivalent experience at all levels.
  • Level I One year of experience in lawn and tree care, general construction, light/heavy equipment operation, and/or other job-related experience. A valid, lawful Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL).
  • Level II High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Two years of experience as a Grounds Technician I OR three years of general construction, grounds maintenance, or other job-related experience. A valid, lawful Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL). A valid Utah Pesticide Applicator License
  • Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Three years of experience as a Grounds Technician II OR six years of general construction, grounds maintenance, or other job-related experience. A valid, lawful Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). A valid Utah Pesticide Applicator License

Responsibilities

  • Perform general grounds maintenance work.
  • Mow and trim grass.
  • Perform various fertilization techniques using dry and liquid chemicals as directed.
  • Install and maintain irrigation systems.
  • Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass.
  • Dig and prepare grave sites at the cemetery.
  • Perform general custodial and cleanup of facilities.
  • Set up equipment for special events.
  • Prepare estimates for landscape projects.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of job-related equipment and tools (heavy and light).
  • May supervise and train lower-level employees.
  • Assist staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
