A Cell Team Leader is a key partner in Creation's customer focused model (CFT) as they are responsible for leading a dedicated assembly team on the back-end production process and executing on commitments. They proactively plan for cell and team needs and use the functional resources available to them to ensure they are prepared. This position requires extensive technical knowledge, leadership in solving technical problems, and a tactical approach to enhancing plant manufacturing processes. To be successful in the role you will need to be a strong compassionate leader who enables new ideas and empowers team members to work together in order to accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • High School Degree, GED or military training experience with a focus on vocational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic components
  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Good computer skills: experience in using an ERP or MRP is a definite advantage; familiar with MS Office suite is required
  • Minimum of 5+ Years of progressive experience in electronics manufacturing, with a proven success record.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in electronics manufacturing processes, reading schematics, and technical problem solving.
  • Knowledgeable about IPC 610 Standard and J-STD-001.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical teams.
  • Strong tactical and strategic thinking, planning abilities, capable of driving innovation and process improvements.
  • Capable of influencing decisions and presenting complex information clearly.
  • Advanced project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Can work effectively with PLM, MES, and CMMS systems.

Nice To Haves

  • College Diploma (2 Year), with relevant coursework in electronics and manufacturing processes or equivalent industry and/or military experience preferred.
  • Effective understanding of Lean principles, six sigma and industrial ergonomics preferred.
  • Proficient in using Computer systems and knowledge of CAD/CAM and programming preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track production activities to meet daily FG/WIP/Kanban requirements
  • Responsibility for executing on production plan with efficiency and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Communicates issues or opportunities effectively with supporting functions and leads resolution initiatives
  • Ensure quality of workmanship to meet IPC standards and work instruction conformance
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of electronics processes and assembly, with an ability to fully interpret technical documentation effectively.
  • Assists in the operation of assigned intermediate and advanced level equipment and support of PCBA & box-build production.
  • Performs advanced assembly, testing and technical support on the production floor.
  • Actively participates in optimization of testing procedures.
  • Performs test equipment setup, verification, troubleshooting and in-house calibration, ensuring repeatable outputs and reliability.
  • Engages in the daily maintenance of test equipment.
  • Leads the Identification of improvement opportunities to ensure product manufacturability in alignment with product specifications.
  • Actively participates in the refinement of testing protocols, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliable test results.
  • Assists the test engineering team with the implementation of test strategies in production, ensuring alignment with product specifications and customer requirements.
  • Coordinates with test engineering team to integrate testing requirements early in the introduction process, enhancing product reliability.
  • Contributes to the advanced troubleshooting and calibration of test equipment, enhancing the precision and reliability of test results.
  • Participates in the advanced analysis of test data, identifying patterns and making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Manage people performance, monitor attendance, production plan and appropriate allocate people resources
  • Positively interacts with direct reports to drive engagement and innovation
  • Assess team member skill levels, ensure appropriate training is provided and maintain high level of cross-training
  • Hold and conduct regular Kaizen team meetings to communicate issues, identify areas to improve throughput, efficiencies and track actions required to meet improvements
  • Monitor MRP & WIP activities to ensure accuracy and work order closure
