About The Position

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. SUMMARY To ensure that socks are neatly boarded and are 1st quality before they go to the packing stage. Work in a team environment to ensure customer’s orders are completed accurately and are packaged according to the customer specifications.

Responsibilities

Lifts socks from canvas trucks to boarding tray.
Places socks on boarding forms.
Straightens heels, toes and leg of socks.
Places completed socks on board.
Passes socks to pairer.
Helps put stickers on folders/check folders, bands, tickets and stickers.
Gets supplies for order (chipboards, hooks, bags)
Push empty buggy away from machine/pull up next buggy of socks.
Keeps up with buggy tickets.
Changes boarding forms for size changes
Inspects socks.
Sweeps machine off daily.
Folds socks or slides socks on needle to tack.
Trims excess strings and checks for defects.
Ensures that all stickers are on folders, chipboards and cases.
Reads boxing tickets, checks bands, stickers, and boxing information before folding socks.
Places band or hang tag in position as stated on boxing ticket, checks all box-end labels against ticket.
Boxes or cases socks per ticket orders.
Places chipboards in case and move case over to the track.
Occasionally carries cases and chipboards to area.
Keeps count of dozens, places tickets on gum sheet with rates together.
Places gum sheet in ticket box.
Pairs and inspects socks to layout standards, watches closely for holes, defects, shades and lengths.
Prepare packaging by placing stickers on folders and boxes..
Occasionally places socks on boarding forms.
Trims excess strings from socks
Passes socks to boxer/bagger.
Occasionally helps boxer/bagger fold and pack socks.
Occasionally places completed socks on board.
General housekeeping.
Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality
Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner;
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions including but not limited to confidentiality requirements.
