Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a CEI Technician Trainee to join our team of construction professionals. This is an entry-level position that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) while working closely with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). As an CEI Technician Trainee, you will be assigned to one or more active construction sites and be responsible for verifying the quality and compliance of project activities and materials in accordance with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) standards and specifications. You will learn how to inspect active construction operations and prepare daily written reports to document details of the work performed. You will also learn to measure quantities of construction materials and perform onsite materials sampling and testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt. Over the course of two years, you will have the opportunity to advance your skillset through on-the-job training, attendance at certification classes, and completion of self-study courses online. Upon completion of the program, you will graduate to the position of Transportation Technician I.
