JMT is currently ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a CEI Inspector for the Tampa Area. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Computer Proficiency
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within six (6) months
• Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection
• One (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
• FDOT/Turnpike/CFX experience required
• Active driver’s license

• Diamond Grinding and Grooving (TC3MN009-15-T1)
• Curing, Sawing and Joint Sealing (TC3CN032-16-T1)
• Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
• Receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents
• Makes field notes and computations
• Perform other related duties as assigned
