About The Position

PURPOSE Safely and efficiently operate a commercial vehicle that transports goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy and delivers them as instructed. JOB DESCRIPTION Transporting and delivering goods to various locations, on time and according to customer requirements Maintaining the vehicle such as, ensuring the vehicle is properly fueled, maintenance routine is performed such as oil changes and tire rotations Inspecting the vehicle such as conducting pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and in working condition Following regulations and adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations including hours-of-service requirements Communicating effectively with dispatchers, supervisors and other team members Documenting and maintaining accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage and delivery receipts Safely loading and unloading material onto the vehicle from the yard to scheduled location Providing excellent customer service to clients Local daily deliveries Hours 6am to 2:30 pm, overtime as needed

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle
  • Valid CDL / able to pass CDL exam
  • Must pass a DOT Physical
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle inspections, safe driving practices for large vehicles, cargo handling and traffic regulations
  • Experience in proper operation of complex features like air brakes, while also possessing substantial experience maneuvering large trucks in various road conditions, including backing up, parking in tight spaces and navigating challenging terrains.
