About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver/Screed Operator to support our asphalt paving operations. This hybrid role is responsible for transporting materials and equipment to job sites and operating the screed on paving machines to ensure proper depth, grade, and overall pavement quality. The ideal candidate has strong driving experience, paving knowledge, and a team-first mindset.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
• DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)
• 2+ years of CDL driving experience (construction preferred)
• 3–5+ years of screed operation experience on commercial or DOT projects
• Knowledge of asphalt paving, grades, slopes, and screed controls
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor environments
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CAT/Carlson screeds and paving electronics preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles (dump truck, trailer, etc.) to transport materials and equipment
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and comply with DOT regulations
• Load, secure, and unload materials using proper procedures
• Operate and adjust the screed to ensure proper depth, grade, and smoothness of asphalt
• Monitor asphalt distribution to maintain consistent mat quality and rideability
• Communicate with paving crew and paver operator to ensure efficient workflow
• Verify grade and depth using gauges and adjust settings as needed
• Assist with general paving duties, including equipment setup, cleanup, and maintenance
• Perform routine maintenance on trucks and paving equipment
• Maintain accurate logs and report any safety or mechanical issues
