About The Position

Since 1970, The Gallegos Corporation has excelled in specialty stone and masonry construction. With our additional services ranging from plaster/stucco, marble/granite, art rock and concrete to stone sales and project design assistance, we are capable of handling projects of any size with superior, timeless craftsmanship. Over the past 55 years, Gallegos has successfully completed projects in 17 different states and currently has five offices in Colorado and Montana. Our CDL A Driver will drive tandem trucks or combination vehicles with Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,000 pounds, and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVMR) of the vehicle being towed is more than 10,000 pounds, to transport materials to and from specified destinations and loads and unloads materials at pick up and drop off sites ensuring safety, quality and productivity requirements are met according to project requirements each day.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience being a truck driver.
• Colorado Commercial Driver’s License, Class A
• General truck maintenance/mechanics.
• DOT Physical
• Colorado Commercial Driver’s License, Class A
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, email and internet.
• Must have w working knowledge of the English Language to communicate with other crew members, vendors, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist laborers in loading and unloading stone and material onto and off of the trick using a forklift or donkey.
• Drives truck to/from the yards and/or from suppliers to job sites.
• Positions blocks and straps around items to secure cargo during transit.
• Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
• Maintains truck logs, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with the supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Inspect trucks, equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, etc. to ensure trucks are maintained and operating safely.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, stalling light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
• Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority when working in the shop and at job sites.
• Models The Gallegos Corporation mission and values at all times.
• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
