Position Purpose and Primary Responsibilities: Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials using various equipment (van trailers, straight trucks, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off frames) while ensuring compliance with DOT, EPA, state and local regulations, and company policies. Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, verifying the integrity of equipment, load conditions, and accuracy of shipment records, manifests, and container labeling. Maintain up-to-date DOT requirements, including driver log books, Vehicle Inspection Records, transportation permits, and other necessary documentation. Communicate effectively with customers regarding load conditions or paperwork inconsistencies, and notify supervisors of any moving violations or accidents. Assist in loading/unloading materials at designated sites and perform housekeeping duties as required. Other duties as assigned.
