Job Summary Under the supervision of the Water/Wastewater Superintendent performs duties associated with the operation and maintenance of a Hydraulic Sewer Cleaner and combination vacuum truck and/or TV inspection/Sealing unit; operates a closed-circuit television truck, utilize robotics to televise sewer collection pipes in accordance with PACP standards capable of inspecting, photographing, and sealing the inside of wastewater lines to determine the need for repairs; and performs other related duties and special projects as assigned. Ensures the safety of safety of employees, and the public, all while conducting pipe inspections. Essential Job Functions Maintain regular and prompt attendance; physically present to work. Performs after hours work as required (nights and weekends) Perform sewer system inspections. Respond to sewage releases and flooding events. Coordinate and lead the work activities of a crew. Investigate reported illegal materials, system leaks, flooding and plugged culverts or ditches. Make entry into confined spaces; may include emergency responses to sewer releases and freezing/ice emergencies. Train other employees in proper methods and equipment used in cleaning and maintaining a sewer system and in the equipment and safety procedures used for inspection of sewer lines. Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum, GPS equipment, and equipment used for the inspection of sewer lines. Perform basic calculations and computer data entry. Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records as required. Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV and electronic equipment. Complete utility inspections using approved procedures and upload daily findings. Read, analyze, and identify discrepancies using a digital or PDF map. Other related duties and projects as assigned. Assist with emergency response as needed by city hall and local EOC.
