Plan, organize, and supervise daily shop operations for compact equipment, trucks and machine shops. Understands and stays current on the latest Caterpillar warranty guidelines and can administer and explain warranty to customers. Works with warranty analyst to ensure claims are written correctly and the maximum dollars are recovered. Works with Service Manager and Caterpillar Reps on policy and repairs outside normal warranty. Schedules customer jobs and communicates this and any possible changes in the schedule to the customer. Maintain effective work, vacation, and training scheduled for assigned staff. Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion. Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Provide technical guidance and support to technicians. Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, and timelines. Respond to all customer requests in a professional and courteous, timely, and responsive manner. Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professionalism. Monitor KPIs and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of service technicians. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training opportunities. Promote teamwork and resolve conflicts effectively.
