About The Position

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to assist with the unloading of incoming cattle, in addition to other responsibilities throughout the night. This position is located at our South Feedlot in Broken Bow, Nebraska, and is scheduled to work a rotating 4 days on and 4 days off, from 5 pm till 5 am. This person will be responsible for: Receiving and unloading incoming cattle. Evaluating and ensuring quality control of incoming cattle. Recording and submitting videos of direct placements upon arrival. Verifying incoming cattle within ALCC cattle management systems. Evaluating feed in all bunks and reporting overnight slick bunks. Serving as a night watch to ensure gates and feedlot are secure. Maintaining, cleaning, washing, and disinfecting equipment and facilities daily and as needed. Working closely with all areas of operations. Safely operating equipment (e.g. tractors, pay loaders, mobile hospitals, trucks and trailers). Assisting with general upkeep, maintenance, service, and repair of feed yard facilities and equipment. Working effectively in a team environment to complete the necessary daily tasks. Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications: Commitment to safety and quality culture. Comfortable with effluent and freshwater washing facilities. General operation of equipment is a plus. Driven, organized, action-oriented, analytical, and ability to multi-task. Basic knowledge of computers. Ability to work independently. Excellent verbal communication. High attention to detail. Must work well in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to perform physical labor in an outdoor environment and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force constantly. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching/handling/grasping, and kneeling/crouching frequently; crawling and stairs occasionally.
  • Valid driver's license.
