About The Position

The Quality Specialist coordinates ThedaCare quality improvement initiatives with ThedaCare’s strategic plan by collecting, analyzing, benchmarking, and disseminating data. Monitors data and trends to support the quality and safety management program and compliance functions. Acts as a consultant for ThedaCare within area of expertise to improve clinical outcomes. Monitors and assesses for compliance issues and influences implementation of activities related to these areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Three years of experience in clinical healthcare
• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
• Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
• Normally works in climate controlled office environment
• Frequent sitting with movement throughout work space
• Use of computers throughout the work day
• Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and validates retrospective and prospective data. Maintains documented regulatory standards. Prepares, reports, and identifies trends, observations, and gaps in the network. Disseminates findings related to quality in support of ThedaCare’s strategic plan.
• Serves as subject matter expert in the work area for quality, cost, utilization, continuous quality improvement methodology, and regulatory standards/specifications.
• Prepares and submits quality and safety data to regulatory entities.
• Educates and develops team members on continuous quality improvement requirements and methodologies.
• Supports and facilitates change consistent with organizational goals and objectives as they relate to quality improvement.
• Provides benchmarking data and identifies resources for benchmarking.
