About The Position

Works within the scope of the Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist to provide individualized, safe and efficient patient care. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. Performs invasive procedures in concert with a cardiologist in accordance with SCHS's mission, philosophies and policies while applying standards of radiation safety guidelines outlined by ALARA and Oregon State Health Division. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a certified radiologic technology-training program.
  • Current ARRT or equivalent registration.
  • Current Oregon State Board of Radiology Technology licensure.
  • BLS/ACLS Certification required (within 90 days of hire).
  • Required within two years of hire the completion and passing of either the examination for a Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) exam.
  • Two (2) year’s experience cardiovascular or Interventional Radiology lab.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
  • Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.
  • Sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds.
  • The use and operation of a motor vehicle for Home Health and Wound Caregivers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Cardiovascular and EP experience.
  • Cardiac Cath lab surgical asepsis, scrub assist, and coronary intervention procedures experience.
  • Cardiovascular Interventional Lab equipment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic and interventional Electrophysiology procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Performs Electrophysiology Implant procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • All duties performed as a monitor tech, scrub tech, or circulator maintaining sterile technique.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques and emergent and routine cardiac care.
  • Document patient care in health record according to department standards.
  • Follows Health and Safety Policies and Procedures of quality patient care.
  • Assists in Record Maintenance and statistics.
  • Participates in Student Training program as requested.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
  • Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Supports Value Improvement Practice (VIP- Lean) principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.
  • Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.

Benefits

  • Eligible for an in-state or out of state relocation bonus, amount based on location.
  • Shift differentials under the OFNHP are currently as follows: Evening: $2.50/hr. Weekend: $4/hr. Night: Starts at $10/hr.
