As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems. Requirements

  • One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school
  • Two to four years mechanical experience or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete repair solutions for generators & automatic transfer switches, on Cat and non-Cat branded systems
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 3200 KW
  • Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
  • Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Working independently with minimal daily supervision
  • Load Bank testing – Resistive and Reactive 25kW to 4,000kW
  • Complete Fluid Analysis for record keeping and engine component wear monitoring to increase equipment lifecycle
  • Emissions testing and analyzing Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) – installations and retrofitting, core cleaning and annual testing
