About The Position

The Catering Specialist is responsible for planning, preparation, and quality service for catered meals and functions. This role involves coordinating with various team members to ensure successful catering events and maintaining high standards of food service.

Requirements

  • Two years of food service experience required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Kentucky driver's license required.
  • Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Senior Supervisor and Operations Manager in planning and scheduling of catering personnel for special functions.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, preparation, delivery, service, and clean-up of catered functions.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Supervisor, responsible for the promotional and planning of special catered functions; visiting with potential clients and post function follow up.
  • Works closely with the Procurement Manager to determine product quality and quantity of foods and supplies needed for catered functions.
  • Oversees work of assigned catering staff and provides work assignments and guidance during assigned catering events.
  • Participates in meetings to communicate issues regarding catered events, new developments, and overall work unit effectiveness.
  • Maintains catering supplies and catering storage areas in a sanitary, neat, and orderly manner.
  • Assists with the cafeteria special and service when the catering schedule reflects an opportunity.
