About The Position

Servers are the operators of the catering department! They are responsible for efficiently running the catering operations during an event, from set up, to serving, to clean up.

Requirements

  • There are no minimum education requirements for this position
  • Respond courteously and promptly to customer needs
  • Ability to ensure a high level of customer service
  • Ability to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Ability to move quickly throughout the complex when an event(s) is located in multiple areas of the building or a supply run is required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of reference checks
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Successful completion of a drug test, if applicable
  • The DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment.
  • On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization.
  • The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire.
  • The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).
  • The list of acceptable documents can be provided by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Set tables prior to events, including dishes, tableware, napkins, etc.
  • Serve food and beverages from kitchen and/or service areas
  • Relay special requests to kitchen
  • Clear and/or reset tables at conclusion of each course or meal
  • Assist with plating meals, when required
  • Assist in clean up after meals served and wash equipment
  • Assist in cleaning and restocking of service areas
  • Cooperate and assist team workers with other projects as assigned
  • Maintain a high degree of service-orientation when performing duties
  • Answer questions and assist guests regarding food and service
  • Assist team and/or other departments with tasks, including light cleaning, moving chairs or signage, and other event related functions
  • Create and maintain a professional and hospitable appearance and atmosphere
  • Follow sanitation, health, and safety protocols
