About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort - Convention Center is responsible for positioning the hotel as a premier destination for catering events. This role involves planning, soliciting, booking, and coordinating meetings and catering functions to achieve annual food and beverage revenue goals.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a hotel Catering Sales Manager.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of food & beverage and banquet service.
• Effective communication skills (written & verbal) with customers and staff.
• Computer literate in Word and Excel; experience with Delphi and Delphi Diagrams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Achieve/exceed planned revenues in food and beverage, meeting room, and audio visual rentals.
• Conduct 10-20 personal sales calls monthly.
• Conduct 5-10 phone calls daily.
• Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through various efforts such as telemarketing, mailing, and referrals.
• Plan, upsell, and detail meetings/functions with clients, including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, and billing instructions.
• Complete contracts and prepare appropriate paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records and files to provide group history and ensure quality service.
• Participate in community and professional organizations to promote sales and maintain visibility.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Upsell catering menu items to maximize food revenue per event.
• Assist in reviewing lost business reports.
• Enter and audit files in the Delphi System; generate weekly reports of holds in the system.
• Coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure '4 Star' service to clients.
