About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing banquet and meeting functions to achieve the catering department goals. This role involves interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates to ensure they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values. The manager will oversee all catering sales targeted towards existing and new corporate and social markets, solicit new business through prospecting calls and outside client visits, and maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients. Additionally, the manager will handle account details, service accounts including BEO’s and Group Resumes, prepare information for client meetings, and provide exceptional service while acquiring high-quality catered products for clients. The role also requires clear communication with staff and adherence to sustainability guidelines and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.
  • Proven track record in catering and banquet sales required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle account details ensuring all solicitation and closing aspects are complete and documented.
  • Service accounts including BEO’s and Group Resumes when necessary.
  • Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients to obtain potential business.
  • Provide exceptional service and acquire high-quality catered products for clients.
  • Communicate clearly with staff both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
