About The Position

Aramark is currently seeking a Catering Sales Manager to support the Cleveland Zoo. The Sales Manager oversees catering sales and operations to implement special events in line with client expectations. This Salaried Full-Time position offers a wide array of comprehensive benefit programs and services. We designed our benefits to promote a culture of health and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or at least 3 years of related experience required
  • Previous experience in a supervisor or manager level role in special events, hospitality, or catering required
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication, client relations, and ideally sales skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team dynamic
  • Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have availability to work event-based hours including evening, weekend, and potentially holiday hours

Responsibilities

  • Oversee entire special events sales process through event execution
  • Lead generations, responding to customer inquiries, developing proposals and contracts
  • Maximize revenue through upselling and offering enhancements to exceed client expectations
  • Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport, providing creative solutions to clients' needs, managing event detailing, tours, tastings, contracts, payments, and event operations
  • Create, manage, and communicate banquet event orders, connect with vendors, and deliver consistent quality in planning and carrying out events
  • Collaborate with culinary and operations departments on menu development, event detailing, and event execution
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and develop employees to ensure standards are followed ensuring quality in final presentation and service
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all catering related revenue, expenses, and receivables, deliver sales, food, and labor targets and maintaining department budgets
  • Ensure compliance with all food, occupational and environmental safety policies
