About The Position

As the Catering Sales Coordinator, you will serve as the main point of contact for catering sales at multiple Potbelly Shops located in the surrounding Columbus, Ohio location. The Catering Sales Coordinator should have a track record of restaurant catering sales and servicing and be able to effectively handle contracting and planning while assuring the highest level of customer service. The ideal candidate should also be a self-reliant, high-energy catering professional who can identify, target, solicit and create relationships to book and detail business for multiple Potbelly Shops. This position directly solicits new catering customers through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques- as well as handles incoming inquiries to ensure the highest level of customer and guest satisfaction is met.

Requirements

  • Position requires incumbent to be at least 21 Years of Age with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of Catering Sales experience required.
  • Reliable Transportation Required with MVR Background Check approval.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and customer service skills.
  • Must be motivated, self-confident, and goal-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work well in a team and consistently perform at a high level.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Shop Managers to set sales goals and strategies.
  • Coordinate delivery drivers and backline associates during peak times.
  • Actively prospect/solicit/qualify and close catering business.
  • Accurately produce and/or review all catering contracts.
  • Act as the liaison between customer and restaurant to ensure successful catering orders and generate repeat business.
  • Send thank-you notes and follow up on all catering orders.
  • Handle customer feedback, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns effectively.
  • Maintain catering collateral and manage the shop's delivery trade area.
  • Manage house accounts and ensure accurate payments and databases.
  • Strive to meet and exceed sales goals; communicate daily with District Manager on sales performance.
  • Lead targeted canvassing and customer correspondence to drive backline sales.
  • Respond promptly to catering quote requests via email.
  • Monitor sales trends and update the team on performance.
  • Ensure all catering orders are fully accurate before delivery.
  • Suggestive selling of extras and sides by phone and in-store.
  • Use tools to ensure the correct amount of product is provided with each order.
