About The Position

The Catering Sales & Account Representative is a hybrid inside / outside sales role with a strong emphasis on outside, field-based sales. This position is responsible for driving new catering business through in-person prospecting and relationship development, while also handling inbound catering inquiries, taking orders, and accurately entering all catering details into the ordering system. This role bridges sales, service, and operations to ensure both revenue growth and flawless execution.

Requirements

  • Experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, or outside sales preferred.
  • Comfortable spending most workdays in the field with some inside administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail with order accuracy and system entry.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and accountable.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, orders, and priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Spend most of the work time in the field conducting sales drop-ins, client visits, and relationship-building meetings.
  • Proactively generate new catering leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person outreach.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of corporate, community, wedding, and repeat catering clients.
  • Represent the brand professionally at networking events, tastings, site visits, and community functions.
  • Contribute to team-based sales goals while meeting individual activity expectations.
  • Respond to inbound catering inquiries via phone, email, and online leads.
  • Take catering orders directly from clients, confirming menus, quantities, timing, delivery/service needs, and pricing.
  • Accurately input catering orders, updates, and client details into the catering/order management system.
  • Ensure all orders meet company standards, lead times, and operational requirements.
  • Communicate order details and changes clearly with culinary, operations, and delivery teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned catering accounts.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with key and repeat clients.
  • Identify opportunities for upsells, add-ons, and future bookings.
  • Attend events as needed to ensure proper execution, brand standards, and client satisfaction.
  • Follow up post-event to collect feedback, secure repeat business, and referrals.
  • Support tastings, menu consultations, and client meetings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, client notes, and order details.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and accountability reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Support forecasting and sales initiatives.
