This role manages event planning and execution, supervises catering staff, coordinates event logistics, and ensures high standards of food quality and service. The Catering Manager works closely with culinary leadership and clients to deliver successful events, including banquet and plated service events, while maintaining strong cost controls and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of food service experience, including at least 1 year in a management role.
  • Prior catering and leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing banquet or plated catering events preferred.
  • Experience in restaurant, hotel, corporate dining, education, healthcare, military, or related food service operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of catering and food service trends, with emphasis on quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based tools.
  • ServSafe Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all catering events from planning through execution and post-event breakdown.
  • Coordinate event logistics including setup, service, sanitation, and facility use.
  • Supervise catering staff and temporary personnel, including training on service standards and procedures.
  • Partner with the Chef to develop catering menus and ensure quality presentation.
  • Monitor and manage labor and food costs for catering events.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, management, and team members to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Support overall foodservice operations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
