About The Position

SodexoMagic is seeking a Catering Manager 3 for Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Sodexo manages the catering for the entire campus, which caters to a wide variety of events. This Catering Manager will manage the execution of events and manage catering staff. Sodexo provides college campuses with food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions. Requirements

  • 3 - 4 years experience Catering, Event or Banquet supervision managing multiple events per day.
  • Experience in high volume catering - from conference center or hotel banquet background.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership/team building skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle catering at all levels
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Review all catering event orders and weekly catering sheets to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize events, ensure on-time setup, and ensure employees offer consistently superior service.
  • Conduct constant event walk-throughs to evaluate and meet service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing training on proper service techniques, customer service, and organization.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure organizational efficiency and continuous safety training.
