About The Position

New launch of exciting culinary program, a chance to make an impact within the local community supporting food insecurity. The Catering Lead Cook (CLC) is primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of food for catering events including maintaining sanitation standards for the kitchen and events. This role will at times engage with clients and must provide superior customer service, with a pleasant demeanor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
Minimum two years culinary experience.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
Must be organized and pay attention to detail in kitchen and food preparation.
Ability to maintain a pleasant and calm demeanor under pressure in a face paced environment.
Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively.
Manual dexterity.
Must be available to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Ability to stand for long hours
Some flexibility required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in online ordering and knowledge of word and excel preferred.
Culinary degree preferred.
Must have a working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Perform routine kitchen tasks and follow production lists and schedules
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
Assist with research and development of recipes and cataloging recipes in binders.
Scale recipes for production.
Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
Attend catering events, set up food stations, and replenish food as needed.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces including shelves in cooler and freezer and taking out trash.
Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
