SUMMARY: Under the general supervision and in collaboration with the Cafeteria Manager, creates, coordinates and provides professional catering services for special parties and special events. Following the established policies and procedures, departmental standards of quality sanitation, safety, and appearance provides special catering as needed for patients, personnel and visitors. The Catering Coordinator Special Events provides support to the staff of the Dudley Cafe in a professional manner including the responsibility of maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary are. RESPONSIBILITIES: Following established policies and procedures creates, coordinates and provides professional personalized catering services for special parties/events to serve patients, personnel and visitors. Responsible for the daily delivery services of the Dudley Cafe and ensures that area is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary fashion at all times. Research and create new food programs as in deli meat selections, yogurt machines and such for the Dudley Cafe. Responsible for creating, planning, and distribution of customized food menu to customers who are planning a special party/event. Organizes bookings, space reservations, parking and completion of the necessary documents for handling charges according to charge policy. Using food handling and sanitation techniques prepares relish trays, deli platters, sandwiches, etc. for special catered parties/events. Handles the delivery of equipment and foodstuff to areas such as hospital offices, conference rooms, lobbies and outdoor parties/events. Takes food temperature frequently to comply with all safety codes which include keeping hot food above 140 degrees and cold foods below 41 degrees and keeps all foods covered and dated. Provides orientation and training to individuals assigned to assets in the delivery of the special party/event to ensure success. Assists in cleanup as needed. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Work requires the ability to read, write and speak English and understand English and to perform arithmetic calculations. Demonstrated skills in high level of food presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to verbally communicate and work effectively all levels of personal, volunteers and such. Knowledge of successful business management to independently direct the operations of catered special parties/events. Numerical and clerical ability to estimate counts, analyze costs, and to keep records when coordinating a special party/event catering service. EXPERIENCE: At least one to two years experience in personalized catering services with leadership skills as demonstrated in owner operator business. WORKING CONDITIONS: Some exposure to cuts and burns while performing job, but hazards are minimized by adhering to established safety precautions. Care and alter-ness are required when operating food machinery and utensils (i.e. slicers and knives). Frequent standing and walking.
