About The Position

The Catering Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of catering events, ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality food presentation, and adherence to health and safety standards. This role includes supervisory duties and financial responsibilities such as budget management, cost control, and revenue tracking to ensure events are executed efficiently and profitably. This position also includes leading staff at times to execute an event.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all catering events in the building.
  • Manage event timelines, menus, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
  • Liaise with Resident Services and Residents to organize, set up and execute catering requests, ensuring seamless communication within and outside the department and high-quality service delivery.
  • Partner with the Programs department to align event setups, layouts, and expectations.
  • Work closely with the Chef & Food and Beverage department staff to align catering needs with available resources.
  • Oversee catering setup, service, and breakdown for events of varying sizes.
  • Maintain catering supplies, inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor catering budgets and track costs to remain within established allowances.
  • Act as the lead coordinator for catering, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and delegated when needed.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure events are executed smoothly.
  • Provide post-event evaluations and feedback to continuously improve services.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and guests during events.
  • Respond to special requests, resolve issues quickly, and ensure a positive overall experience.
  • Help promote a strong sense of community through high-quality catering services.
  • Assist in the accurate tracking, recording, and reconciliation of inventory levels.
  • Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POS systems to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Coordinate and process billing requests from residents and the Financial Department to ensure timely and accurate invoices.
  • Assist with daily dining room activities as needed to support smooth service and customer satisfaction.
  • Pursue opportunities to improve department processes.
