About The Position

The Event Sales Manager at The Red Lion Inn is a key leadership role focused on driving revenue growth through strategic planning and execution of sales strategies for event and banquet spaces. This position requires a dynamic individual with a proven sales track record, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for special events. The role involves personal client engagement, managing the sales process, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful event execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field.
  • 2 years proven experience in event sales.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Excel, Word, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets for the Red Lion Inn event space.
  • Analyze sales performance data and financial reports to make informed decisions and adjustments to the sales strategy.
  • Generate new business through on-site visits, cold calling, community networking, and other lead-generation sources.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, providing detailed information, proposals, and custom solutions.
  • Maintain accurate lead inquiry and sales reporting to present to the executive leadership team.
  • Conduct tours to showcase the Red Lion Inn event facilities and services.
  • Manage schedule for tours and train extended team within best practices for hosting tours on property.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to set sales goals and objectives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage proposal process and client bookings; troubleshoot contractual issues or client problems.
  • Conduct market research to identify sales growth opportunities and industry trends.
  • Assist the sales and marketing team in developing customized event packages, pricing structures, and promotional offers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments, such as accounting, culinary, restaurant, banquet, marketing, and operations.
  • Assist and support the Production Team to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Consistently communicate accurate event information to the Event Producer assigned.
  • Maintain an accurate filing system for past, tentative, and upcoming events.
  • Use catering software and systems to their full potential.
  • Attend daily/weekly sales and BEO meetings to update the team on upcoming events.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages creativity and proactive problem-solving.
