The Category Manager ensures that the company has a long-term supplier base that fulfills our demands on Quality, Delivery and Cost and is responsible for sourcing of assigned categories. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Engineering or economics or other relevant education in combination with 5 years’ experience within Strategic Purchasing
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Oracle a plus
  • Project leading
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good communicator verbally and written
  • Strategic thinking, ability to see a long-term perspective
  • Multicultural competence (multiple language(s) is a merit)

  • Work experience in a manufacturing company a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop global market knowledge within the categories
  • Identify opportunities within the categories
  • Lead and coordinate global/regional sourcing activities
  • Coordinate sourcing activities with SWEP
  • Activate supplier integration
  • Support supplier rationalization
  • Maintain and coordinate an effective level of activities with our suppliers
  • Ensure supply capacity at suppliers for the period 12+ months, through investments plans at incumbent suppliers or finding alternative sources within the categories
  • Ensure that agreements are established, and that price agreements are updated in business system as required within categories
  • Coordinate Category activities with and through SWEP Supply Chain organization
  • Participating in New Product Development and/or Advanced Customizing projects
  • Establish, follow up and act upon established goals that are set within the current business plan.
  • Contribute to development of the Purchasing process
  • Ensure that continuous improvement is an active part of the work
  • Establish and lead Cross functional commodity teams
  • Ensure Business system set up and update within assigned Categories
  • Master the global sourcing processes
  • Adhere and deploy the global SWEP sourcing strategies
  • Behave according to valid external and internal policies, safety and environmental rules
  • Deploy the Dover agreements
