About The Position

The Worldwide Grocery Category Management team is seeking a Category Manager to lead various aspects of the retail business across different banners, including buying/vendor management, product management, operations, and marketing/merchandising. This role focuses on identifying growth opportunities within the Produce and Floral categories and requires the ability to deliver results at both strategic and tactical levels. The Category Manager will be accountable for the business results of their product categories, managing the performance of the product portfolio, developing vendor relationships, expanding product selection, leading negotiations, setting category strategy, developing marketing programs, driving sales and margin improvements, and creating best-in-class customer experiences. The ideal candidate possesses strong customer experience intuition, business and product sense, a solid understanding of technical concepts, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, ambiguous environment. High judgment, influence, analytical talent, exceptional communication, and leadership are crucial for success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of with Excel experience
  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
