About The Position

This role offers the chance to lead the growth and strategic development of a major product category within a fast-moving digital marketplace. The Category Manager will act as both strategist and operator, shaping category vision, driving seller and creator engagement, and optimizing community and marketplace performance. You will partner with Marketing, Partnerships, Product, and Operations teams to define and execute go-to-market strategies, build pipelines, and increase liquidity, retention, and monetization. The position combines data-driven decision-making with hands-on execution, requiring a deep understanding of market trends, community culture, and category dynamics. Ideal candidates are proactive, entrepreneurial, and able to influence cross-functional teams while owning measurable growth outcomes. This is a high-impact role with significant autonomy and opportunity to shape emerging categories.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, category management, or marketplace growth roles; experience in consumer platforms or two-sided marketplaces preferred.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to plan vision while executing in fast-moving environments.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, capable of establishing trust with sellers, creators, and internal teams.
  • Data-fluent, able to make informed decisions and measure success effectively.
  • Deep understanding of community norms, cultural drivers, and category subcultures.
  • Experience with CRM tools, sales pipelines, analytics dashboards, and performance metrics preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort working independently and influencing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the strategic vision and growth plan for your assigned category.
  • Build expertise in supply landscapes, demand drivers, community channels, and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of sellers, creators, and influencers within the category.
  • Drive outbound acquisition, onboarding, and enablement for high-potential sellers and community partners.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Partnerships, and Operations to execute high-impact campaigns, launches, and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze category performance metrics including supply, engagement, retention, and revenue, making data-driven recommendations.
  • Serve as the category’s voice internally, championing seller and creator needs while promoting community-led growth strategies.
