We currently have an opening for a Category Manager for our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. This role can be located at our Sylmar, CA or Scottsdale, AZ locations. The Senior Procurement Specialist will identify, research, evaluate and suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. The role will evaluate complex sales and promotional campaigns to secure reduced prices. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Management, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain or related or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years Progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management.
  • Minimum 3 years in a highly regulated environment.
  • Minimum 8 years with purchasing/commodity management software.
  • Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements.
  • In depth experience in contract management.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately up to 20%, including internationally

Responsibilities

  • Assess variety of supplier’s products to ensure they that they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.
  • Requires high degree of skills and independence in negotiation activities.
  • Typically involved in large and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organization’s products, processes and budget.
  • May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff.
  • Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
  • Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
  • Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
  • Responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organization's operations.
  • Activities include sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied.
