About The Position

The Category Manager – Facilities is responsible for leading sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance across multi‑site / global Facilities and other labour-intensive service categories, including IFM, building services, Utilities, Waste, and Security. The role also supports Facilities‑related, labour‑driven capital initiatives such as office fit‑outs, refurbishments, and small works—integrating these activities into the broader Facilities procurement framework. In addition to Facilities, the position provides flexible support across other Site Services & Commodities categories to ensure cohesive sourcing strategies, optimized cost structures, and strong supplier governance. This role partners closely with Engineering, Facilities, Real Estate, Operations, HSE, and Finance to drive operational reliability, service quality, and strategic value across the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is required
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in indirect procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, preferably in a multi-site or international manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering measurable value.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders in Facilities, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Operations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex sourcing initiatives and manage high-value supplier contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Project management experience and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel up to 30%, primarily to US sites with potential international travel.

  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, PMP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier-generated savings and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Identify and mine opportunities for value creation through data analysis and market intelligence.
  • Manage and disseminate market intelligence to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Develop and execute category strategies and long-term category plans.
  • Manage sourcing pipelines and lead strategic sourcing events.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead implementation of strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Maintain and update pricing files
  • Manage issue escalations and ensure timely resolution.
  • Track compliance, manage supplier scorecards, and report on KPIs.
  • Administer rebate programs and ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Report and validate savings performance.
  • Conduct detailed spend analysis and segmentation to identify category opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year category roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional category councils or governance forums to align on priorities and execution.
  • Monitor category performance and adjust strategies based on market dynamics and internal needs.
  • Lead complex sourcing events including RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions.
  • Develop total cost of ownership (TCO) models to support sourcing decisions.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and risk profiles to ensure alignment with long-term strategy.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure contract terms mitigate risk and drive value.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating business needs into sourcing strategies.
  • Drive alignment and adoption of category strategies across business units and geographies.
  • Lead change management efforts to implement new suppliers, processes, or technologies.
  • Identify and implement innovative sourcing solutions that improve service, reduce cost, or enhance sustainability.
  • Partner with suppliers to co-develop solutions that support ESG and operational goals.
