About The Position

The Category Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources—including Circana, Nielsen, consumer data, and wholesale shipment data—to identify growth opportunities for Red Bull across volume, market share, promotions, pricing, and shelf space. The primary focus of the role is to transform data into actionable insights that drive strategy and volume growth within the assigned region. This role can sit out of the following locations: Chicago, Denver, Santa Monica.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years related work experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry including class of trade, customer groups, category, competitive products, competitive strategies and industry trends
  • Knowledge of syndicated data (Circana, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Customer facing experience
  • Strong history of creating fact-based selling stories, and the ability to integrate multiple tools to solve problems
  • Ability to interpret analysis results, formulate recommendations, develop presentations and present action plans to customers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present and explain complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
  • Must be fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Provide category management insights to key customers by leading strategic discussions focused on category growth opportunities.
  • Create, develop, and deliver comprehensive category reviews, plans, and strategies in collaboration with retail partners.
  • Translate insights into action by executing, analyzing, and evaluating category plans with retailers.
  • Strategically develop customer-specific Category Management business plans that align with and support overall customer business objectives.
  • Identify performance gaps across volume, market share, pricing, promotion, shelf space, and product distribution.
  • Develop and implement solutions, while tracking, measuring, and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Analyze consumer and shopper data to uncover insights and identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct post-program analysis to evaluate effectiveness and measure results.
  • Manage and maintain category databases, reports, and analytical applications.
  • Provide analytical support and actionable insights to support the development of Category initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Sales Leaders and Retail Partners to support the development of customer-specific category management strategies.
  • Leverage a variety of category management tools on special projects to improve productivity and effectiveness for customer teams.
  • Support customer teams by responding to ad hoc data requests, answering business questions, and providing analytical and technical support.
  • Coordinate communication and efforts across customer teams to ensure all informational and analytical needs are met.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality support while demonstrating a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Assist customer teams with system applications, data access, data utilization, and information requests.
  • Build and leverage relationships with Headquarters Category teams to share best practices, tools, and resources.
  • Establish best practice reporting, and take on responsibility for report updates, both weekly and monthly.
  • Generate reports with syndicated and internal sales sources to support Red Bull’s category development strategy.
