About The Position

Glanbia Performance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glanbia. GPN’s brand portfolio consists of – Optimum Nutrition, BSN, Isopure, Think!, and Amazing Grass, each with its own brand essence. GPN manufactures and markets the full range of performance nutrition and lifestyle products including protein, pre-workout, muscle gainers, ready-to-eat snacks and general health. Products are sold through a variety of channels including specialty retail, the internet, gyms and FDM in a variety of formats including powders, bars and Ready-to-Drink beverages. We are hiring a Category Analyst to join our Omni Category & Shopper team!  As the Category Analyst you will be responsible for analyzing consumer and category data to provide business insights and recommendations to improve sales, operations, and profitability for our markets. You will support the GPN Americas growth strategy through data analysis and work cross functionally with other category management team members, sales, strategy, marketing, eCommerce, and insights and analytics teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 1-3 years of analytical experience in consumer goods, retail, or other relevant industry experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excel experience includes VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, Pivot Tables/charts and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience with syndicated data, customer card/POS data, and panel data and their application (ie. Nielsen, IRI, NPD, Numerator, 84.51, dunnhumby, SPINS, Stratum, Spectra/demographics)

Nice To Haves

  • CPCA (Certified Professional Category Analyst) certification
  • Experience with food & beverage a plus
  • Experience in analyzing and representing large, complex data sets via visualization tools (i.e. Symphony Retail AI/EYC, Tableau, Microsoft Access, PowerBI, ProSpace, SQL, VBA, Alteryx)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex sets of data to provide insights and recommendations addressing product, placement, pricing, and promotions to support the achievement of sales and marketing objectives
  • Project work will include analytics related to topline reporting, sales reviews, category line reviews, overall business trends, merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving across the omnichannel landscape
  • Identify and validate opportunities within a given category, market or division using customer POS, syndicated data, category roles, competitive pricing, frequency reports, elasticity reports, market data, eCommerce data, and other sources
  • Assist Category Manager in managing relationships with syndicated data vendors and key customer contacts to maximize these partnerships and enhance selling opportunities
  • Assist in reporting for meetings and developing storylines and presentations to effectively communicate category findings both internally and externally
  • Develop regular reporting and dashboards that enable category leadership to quickly understand market trends and opportunities
