Position Summary: The Category Analyst interprets data, provides recommendations based on analysis, and executes plans supporting the strategy and goals of the department.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of analytical experience in a retail and/or Consumer Packaged Goods role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Proficient in MSL Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Balances workload and priorities
  • Proven success with analytical interpretation of complex data sets
  • Effective and concise communication and presentation skills
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Negotiation ability is encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Giant’s high-performance team and partnerships both internally and externally
  • Work cross functionally with internal departments: Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Pricing Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations
  • Maintain relationships with Giant’s Vendor Community to develop sales plans
  • Curate distinctive, customer centric assortment
  • Provide data driven recommendations to identify key points and opportunities that lead to meaningful and relevant conclusions
  • Create meaningful and engaging omnichannel promotions to author Giant’s featured assortment
  • Forecast promotional activities and plans in alignment with departmental budget
  • Capture and communicate insights to the appropriate stakeholders
