About The Position

The Catastrophe Modeler plays a critical role in the risk management team, utilizing statistical analysis and predictive modeling to assess risks associated with natural and man-made disasters. This position requires a blend of analytical skills and domain knowledge in meteorology, seismology, and financial modeling to predict the impact of catastrophic events on our assets and liabilities. Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze hazard data, such as seismic activity, meteorological patterns, and historical loss information.
• Develop and maintain catastrophe models to estimate potential losses from various disaster scenarios.
• Evaluate the probability and impact of catastrophic events on company assets and insurance portfolios.
• Perform model validation and calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability of predictions.
• Generate detailed reports and visualizations to communicate risk assessments to stakeholders.
• Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and risk managers to integrate model findings into business decisions.
• Stay ahead of advancements in catastrophe modeling techniques and incorporate new methodologies as appropriate.
• Ensure modeling practices adhere to regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
