This role will ensure alignment between the CAT Technology product group and the development of crucial electrical components that are being developed for next generation technology. They will provide technical leadership on complex solutions for robotics hardware development while delivering quality products that meet our needs on budget and on time.

Requirements

  • Hardware Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of hardware product design; ability to convert market requirements into hardware product design.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science or Materials Science curriculum
  • Proven experience in hardware development including but not limited to electrical components
  • Systems Engineering and Project Management experience, ability to manage complex projects
  • Prior experience in Construction and/or Mining industry
  • Experience in Autonomy & Automation preferred
  • Prior experience with Caterpillar products and tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the full life cycle development of all major autonomous haulage system 2.0 component development.
  • Be responsible for on-time delivery of AHS 2.0 components to meet machine NPI timelines.
  • Be the liaison or single point of contact between the Product Group Technical leads and Component Design Engineers for the AHS 2.0 electrical components deeply understanding the product group needs and ensure that the AHS 2.0 components will meet those needs.
  • Responsible for reliability of the AHS 2.0 components by reviewing validation plans written by the component leads and assisting with the validation execution, as well as tracking of quality issues and managing any obsolescence.
