About The Position

Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as class or other employment during the Amazon workday. Amazon MGM Studios is seeking bright, dynamic, and self-motivated interns to work hard, have fun and make history with us this summer. Amazon Studios Internship Program offers interns hands-on experience working with the studio behind award-winning and ground-breaking programming like Reacher, Overcompensating, We Were Liars, The Boys, The Accountant 2, Red One, Road House, Red and White & Royal Blue to name a few. We are looking for Casting Interns to support the US TV Casting Team or US Movies Casting Team. This person will help with daily tasks as well as long-term projects on a larger scale. At the start of the summer, the intern will be given a Capstone Project that will challenge them to bring all that they’ve learned together and apply it to how our team impacts the studio as a whole. The casting intern will support department coordinators as well as work with the team’s casting executives to learn about the Movie or TV casting process on both a micro and macro level. While you will be assigned various tasks regularly, it is strongly encouraged that interns dive deep into growth opportunities independently. At the end of your term, you will present your Capstone Project to the team. While the casting intern will be working primarily with either the Series Team or Movies Team, they will also be given the opportunity to learn about the other team. Series casting and movie casting operate separately, but they do overlap at times. Outside of our team, they will also have the opportunity to participate in guest speaker sessions, networking events, and screenings. IMPORTANT NOTE: While candidates will be considered for Film and TV at point of application to this requisition, they will only be shortlisted for one track after review. Candidates will be evaluated for both tracks based on their most recently submitted resume and placed by the recruiting team. This position will be heavily focused on operational organization and administrative process within the casting team. Additional areas of exposure will include: development process, Amazon Studio’s systems, budgeting process, and other protocol/workflows which are key to casting scripted content for Amazon MGM Studios. Those who may benefit most are self-starters who seek out opportunities to learn, and are proactive in identifying and taking on projects.
