About The Position

Come support the global growth of Amazon MGM Studios, creating original content for our global customers! Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a highly motivated, curious, and analytical Financial Analyst to join the Television Accounting team in Culver City, California. Amazon MGM Studios is home to award-winning television series including Wednesday, The Handmaid’s Tale, Fargo, Vikings, Survivor, The Voice, Fallout, The Rings of Power, Reacher, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Boys, and Jack Ryan. The Television Accounting team is responsible for the accounting and reporting related to the development, production, acquisition, licensing, and distribution of television content. This role will primarily support accounting activities for the television distribution and licensing business. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound business judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment. This individual will think both strategically and tactically, partner cross-functionally, and influence senior business leaders through clear communication, analytical rigor, and well-reasoned recommendations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication

Nice To Haves

  • CPA
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
  • SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining variances, and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management
  • Review licensing agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606, and process agreements through the rights management system
  • Research technical accounting guidance and prepare internal technical accounting memoranda, as needed
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Production, Tax, and Sales to ensure alignment and effective information flow
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Review and analyze reporting packages from foreign subsidiaries
  • Build trust and credibility with senior leadership through clear, concise communication
