Casting Coordinator
About The Position
The Animation Casting Department supervises the casting of all the voice talent for Sony Pictures Animation’s projects. We are looking for a casting coordinator to support the Casting Director for one for our CG Series. Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Los Angeles, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process, and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt, with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.
Requirements
- Experience communicating with agents’ offices
- Has in-depth knowledge of popular culture, television, and film
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Has a strong sense of taste and is able to voice subjective and objective opinions
- Proficient in Mac and basic editing software
- Self-motivated, confident, and has an excellent sense of humor
- Minimum one year of entertainment industry experience
- Fan of animation is a MUST
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Isolate voices and edits audio/video clips for pitches using Garageband and iMovie
- Update and keep track of casting, various lists, and databases
- Research current movies, television shows, stand-up comedy, online/new media, and foreign films to search for and track new talent
- Coordinate with production and agents to schedule recording sessions
- Answers phones and tracks phones
- Aides BA in gathering and compiling legal documents for hiring actors
