About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Cast Technician to provide excellent patient care and support in the clinical setting. In this role, you will handle tasks such as cast application and removal, basic wound care, including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, and fitting basic durable medical equipment (DME) and orthopedic braces. You will be responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of casting supplies, keeping cast rooms fully stocked and clean, and ensuring that all instruments are clean and sanitized. This role also involves educating patients and caregivers on specific care instructions and assisting clinical staff with direct and indirect patient care activities. ORA holds all our staff members accountable for providing high-level care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations. As a Cast Technician, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care and supporting medical professionals in various aspects of patient management, procedure assistance, and administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous casting, medical assisting, or other related healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • A successful candidate will have knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and collaborate with medical professionals is a requirement of this position.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
  • This position requires travel to various ORA clinic locations as scheduled.
