About The Position

Performs routine patient centered activities in both the Cast Room setting as well as the Emergency Department setting. Care is provided to pediatric and adolescent patients according to established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient as assigned by the Professional Nurse. Job Summary: Apply a wide variety of types of casts or traction determined by the physician to treat fractures, sprains or wounds of the extremities and fractures or infections. Instructing patients on cast care and at home fraction. Each patient must be informed of what their roles are when they are discharged in one of our devices. Knowledge of signs and symptoms of infections Knowledge of what to do in case of an emergency Consult with patients by phone, instruct patients to call physician where concerns cannot be addressed Maintain equipment and supply inventory at main location. Travel, if necessary, to cover Satellite locations when needed. Ordering of supplies and maintaining proper PAR levels Track and complete paperwork for DME supplies. Assist provider with casting as necessary. Requirements

  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
  • High School Diploma - OR - GED
  • CPR certification required within 60 days of hire date
  • Orthopedic technician/technologist, Certified Medical Assistant, OR Tech, EMT
