About The Position

This position is responsible for the administration of every aspect of the casino floor’s support staff, which includes Chip Attendants, Poker Floor Attendants, Cal Casino Floor Coordinator, and Casino Rotation Coordinator. This includes, without limitation, maintaining lines of communication between management and casino support staff to ensure departmental goals are met, and oversight of equipment and supplies related to smooth table operations on the floor.

Requirements

  • Work Experience Required: 3 - 5 years experience in casino gaming operations.
  • Education: College degree in Management or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk no less than 8 hours per day and be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Licenses: A casino work permit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Knowledge Required: Must have knowledge of Casino gaming rules and operations; be able to monitor and communicate professionally with employees of all levels; have general knowledge in gaming regulations, marketing, and customer service. Must understand and be able to abide by Company and departmental policies and procedures. Must operate with ethics and integrity, able to resolve conflicts, and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of Workforce
  • Participates in interviews and auditions of prospective employees for all casino support staff positions on the floor.
  • Ensures casino support staff is oriented upon hire regarding all aspects of the company’s procedures including all required safety programs.
  • Is familiar with job duties of all casino support staff and may assist shift managers in overseeing their performance.
  • Assists department and/or floor management with setting job expectations regarding pertinent areas of casino support staff responsibilities, such as demonstrating knowledge and skill necessary to perform the job, establishing criteria for guest services and professionalism, compliance with departmental policies and procedure and game integrity.
  • Processes casino support staff requests for vacations, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, modified duty restrictions as well as other attendance issues.
  • Processes employment related issues involving any casino support staff, including overseeing new hire orientation, scheduling, meal period review, handling employee complaints, conducting investigations, attending unemployment or workers’ compensation hearings or disciplinary meetings in HR, handling or directing request for leaves, and maintaining employee files.
  • Works with management in holding casino support staff accountable by administering coaching, counseling or disciplining when needed, and complete documentation for performance evaluations, leaves of absence, disciplinary or safety follow-up.
  • Oversee the handling and ordering of all necessary forms, supplies and equipment for Casino Department, such as administrative forms, safety or gaming equipment, and employee uniforms.
  • Oversight of Gaming Objectives
  • Contribute to operational issues as they develop and share information with casino staff through regular attendance at Shift Manager’s meetings and at departmental preshifts.
  • Addresses departmental concerns, review new policies or procedures, or direct handling of company or department training efforts.
  • Game & Technology Development
  • Stay current and knowledgeable of all games and collections procedures, the roles and function of gaming vendors, and be aware of technology that can affect game integrity.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the casino’s technological updates, such as the dealer tracking system, Genesis and Dealer Management Program, as well as ability to perform Microsoft Word and Excel basics.
  • Financial Accountability
  • Be accountable for supporting department’s financial goals and guidelines in all areas where expenses may be impacted.
  • Promote department objective by ensuring proper schedules for casino support staff based upon regular and seasonal business needs, including tournaments or other promotions.
  • Documentation
  • Consistently document regular matters as well as atypical situations, in appropriate logs and disciplinary, evaluation sheets, or e-mails.
