  • Consistently provides friendly and cooperative service to internal and external customers.
  • Processes customer orders in an efficient, accurate, safe and courteous manner.
  • Seeks opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers.
  • Maintains an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service.
  • Operates check stand equipment such as a cash register, scanner and scale.
  • Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Processes monetary transactions including cash, checks, gift certificates, and refunds.
  • Maintains knowledge of current product location and ensures proper pricing.
  • Maintains clean, neat and properly stocked check stand.
  • Stocks, prices and rotates merchandise.
  • May be assigned to a multi station self-checkout lane or customer service counter as needed.
  • Follows all state and federal laws concerning the sale of restricted or regulated items.
  • Adheres to all USDA Food Stamp or WIC voucher procedures.
  • Regularly moves within SCO area to expedite transactions and maintain safety.
  • Initiates and engages contact with customers at self-checkout kiosks.
  • Monitors multiple simultaneous transactions and verifies payment.
  • Prioritizes safety of employees and customers by addressing or reporting concerns.
  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform friendly, courteous, tactful relations with customers and co-workers.
  • Communicate effectively to perform customer relation tasks.
  • Complete written forms and conduct visual inspections.
  • Lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 20 lbs frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Operate check stand equipment such as cash registers, scanners, and scales.
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time, walk rapidly, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination.
  • Learn and memorize a considerable amount of information including PLU codes and company policies.
  • Ensure accuracy in scanning and handling monetary transactions.
  • Occasionally use blades for box cutting.
  • Use household cleaners to maintain work area.
  • Navigate and manage potentially high stress situations.
  • Food safety/handlers cards, tobacco and alcohol sales certification (e.g., TAM card).
