CASHIER

About the position

The Cashier position at Starlight Theatre is primarily responsible for event and performer merchandise sales. This role involves performing basic sales transactions for retail and event-based sales using a cashless point-of-sale system, while adhering to all payment integrity guidelines set forth by the company. This is an event-based position, and candidates are encouraged to review the 2025 season schedule prior to applying.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with sales of event / performer merchandise, including but not limited to: t-shirts, sweatshirts, posters, koozies, buttons, stickers, and other show memorabilia.
• Perform high-volume sales in compressed time frame.
• Provide high-quality guest experience in sometimes high-stress environment.
• Able to work in or be exposed to external weather conditions, including heat and rain.
• Lift, push, pull, unpack, reload boxes, containers, shelves, and carts of merchandise throughout the venue as needed.
• Perform basic inventory processes, including separating, counting, recording, sorting, and preparing merchandise for sale or shipment.
• Participate in a count-in and count-in operations before and after each event.
• Enter all sales into the Point of Sale (POS) system to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Accept and process all acceptable forms of payment for a cashless venue; issue receipts to customers.
• Follow standard procedures for issuing refunds.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cashless venue procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
