About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for the operation of the Cash Cage at a branch or location Exchange. This role involves handling cash transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash management, and providing excellent customer service. The Cashier may be assisted by one or two associates and is accountable for all cash receipts and security procedures related to cash handling.

Requirements

• Experience in cash handling and customer service.
• Ability to maintain accurate cash records and reports.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects and issues money bags, cash funds, and sub-custody receipts.
• Receives, counts, and verifies cash received with daily cash report and maintains a log record of movement of money bags and cash funds issued.
• Responsible for all cash receipts turned in daily and obtains signature upon receipt.
• Prepares bank deposits of cash receipts and makes change funds for cash registers.
• Cashes payroll checks, personal checks, government checks, travelers checks, money orders, etc., ensuring proper identification is provided.
• Checks names against bad check list and/or social security number through TRW before processing the payment of personal checks.
• Receives, counts, and verifies monies received with daily cash reports for accuracy.
• Ensures proper security procedures are followed in securing cash receipts and maintains safe combinations.
• Maintains a current list of bad checks by name, social security number, rank, and branch of service as necessary.
• Exercises tact, good manners, and courtesy when serving and assisting customers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
